ABOUT THE ROLE 

VinUniversity is seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing Expert (Research Communications) to drive strategic communications initiatives and strengthen the visibility and engagement of the University’s research activities. 

This role is responsible for developing and executing strategic communication and marketing initiatives that promote research excellence, strengthen academic and industry engagement, and position VinUniversity as a leading research-driven institution. 

You will work closely with faculty members, research centers, academic units, and external partners to create compelling content, manage multi-channel communication campaigns, and ensure research outcomes are effectively communicated to local and global audiences. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES   

  • Define strategic research narratives aligned with Vin University’s institutional positioning. 
  • Identify priority research themes, flagship projects, and faculty voices for global visibility. 
  • Develop research storytelling frameworks and academic thought leadership directions. 
  • Design faculty visibility and academic reputation strategies. 
  • Establish standards for research storytelling, academic media engagement, and research newsroom operations. 
  • Advise leadership and faculties on research communication priorities and positioning. 
  • Develop international academic media strategies and partnership visibility frameworks. 
  • Continuously evaluate research communication effectiveness and refine strategic priorities. 

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATOR 

  • Quality and strategic relevance of research narratives developed.  
  • Growth of international academic visibility.  
  • Faculty participation in strategic communication initiatives.  
  • Research media positioning and global academic engagement.  
  • Adoption of research storytelling standards across faculties and centers. 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS   

  • PhD or research-intensive master’s degree preferred. 
  • Or a senior science journalist/editor with strong academic exposure. 
  • Excellent English writing and analytical skills. 
  • Ability to interpret academic research and translate it into strategic narratives. 
  • Strong understanding of global research university ecosystems.
