OPPORTUNITY

VinUniversity is looking for an entrepreneurial-minded QS Data Analytics Specialist who is passionate about university data analytics and management in a fast-paced international higher education environment

The QS Data Analytics will support VinUniversity’s data analytics efforts related to QS and other global university rankings. This role will work closely with the QS Data Analytics Manager and the Planning Officer to analyze rankings data, develop insights, and implement strategies to improve VinUniversity’s ranking performance. The QS Data Analytics Specialist will report to the QS Data Analytics Manager.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

REPORTING LINE: QS Data Analytics Manager, Transformation Management Office Manager

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in analyzing VinUniversity’s rankings data and identifying areas for improvement.
• Support the development and implementation of data-driven strategies to enhance rankings, in alignment with the university‘s strategic plan.
• Gather and organize data required for QS and other ranking submissions, collaborating with various departments.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity through data validation and quality checks.
• Assist in creating and maintaining dashboards and data visualization tools to communicate progress to stakeholders.
• Conduct research on ranking methodologies and stay updated on relevant trends in the higher education industry. Generate data-driven reports to assist leaders in making informed decisions
• Support benchmarking analyses of peer institutions to inform strategic decision-making.
• Assist in providing training to colleagues on data analytics topics.
• Provide general administrative support to the QS Data Analytics Manager and collaborate with the Planning Officer as needed.
• Other data management tasks as required.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

• Bachelor’s degree from a prestigious university in quantitative fields such as statistics, data science, business analytics, or economics
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in data analytics, preferably in a diverse, fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python)
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI)
• Fluency in English (minimum IELTS Academic score of 7.5 or equivalent)
• Familiarity with global university ranking systems, particularly QS
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Critical competencies: Digital literacy, Organizational skills, Discipline and Resilience, Cultural sensitivity, Achievement orientation, Adaptability
• Understanding of the higher education industry is preferred
