JOB PURPOSE

The Academic Branding Manager will be responsible for developing and executing an academic branding strategy for VinUniversity, with the goal of enhancing the University‘s academic reputation, promoting scholarly and academic works, and elevating its standing in global university rankings. This incumbent will focus on building and promoting a strong academic identity, showcasing the University’s strengths and uniqueness, and ensuring alignment with VinUniversity’s mission of becoming a world-class institution by Vision 2030.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Academic Branding Strategy:
    • Assist in developing and executing a comprehensive academic branding strategy to position VinUniversity as a leader in education and research.
    • Communicate the University’s academic strengths, research excellence, and faculty achievements to external stakeholders.
  • Promotion of Scholarly Works:
    • Collaborate with faculty and researchers to highlight their academic achievements, publications, and contributions on local, regional, and global platforms.
    • Identify key scholarly initiatives within colleges and academic departments for inclusion in marketing and communication campaigns.
  • Academic Reputation Management:
    • Enhance VinUniversity‘s reputation through strategic communication and content development, focusing on academic milestones, research impact, and key collaborations.
    • Monitor academic branding efforts and adjust strategies as necessary to improve visibility and reputation.
  • Academic Contact Database Management:
    • Maintain and update the University’s database of academic contacts.
    • Regularly communicate with key contacts to keep them informed of academic and research developments.
    • Build and strengthen relationships with these contacts to support the University’s academic reputation.
  • Collaboration with Internal & External Stakeholders:
    • Work closely with faculty, leadership, and the marketing team to ensure academic branding aligns with the University’s strategic goals.
    • Engage with academic organizations, alumni, and partners to promote VinUniversity’s academic reputation both locally and globally.
  • Events & Conferences:
    • Assist in organizing academic events, seminars, webinars, and conferences to showcase VinUniversity’s research and thought leadership.
    • Research and recommend academic conferences and events that support the University’s academic branding goals.
    • Support faculty and researchers in participating in prestigious international academic events to increase visibility.
  • Internal Communications:
    • Design and implement internal communication strategies for the President’s and Provost’s offices, TMO, and University-wide campaigns.
    • Ensure effective communication across academic and administrative departments, keeping internal stakeholders aligned with the University’s academic vision and strategic initiatives.
    • Other relevant tasks and projects assigned by supervisors.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in academic branding, marketing, or communications within higher education or a related field.
    • Proven track record in promoting academic initiatives, faculty research, and institutional reputation.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong understanding of academic branding, global rankings, and the factors influencing academic reputation.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to create engaging content.
    • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g., social media, SEO, email marketing).
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work with cross-functional teams.
    • Experience with media relations, press releases, and securing academic-focused media coverage.
