THE COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES
The College of Arts and Sciences is the first home for all students enrolled at VinUniversity as they embark on a nuanced journey of self-discovery in a state-of-the-art tertiary education designed in collaboration with leading universities in the world, top minds in Vietnam and passionate stakeholders. In this sense, General Education at VinUniversity is essentially a “gateway” between past and future, theory and practice, and local and global. This is where students, faculty and staff collectively take the first step towards realizing VinUniversity’s mission of contributing to the betterment of Vietnam and the world.
The College of Arts and Sciences at VinUniversity seeks an innovative and dynamic Program Director to lead VinCore, the university’s interdisciplinary core curriculum program required for all undergraduate students. VinCore is fundamental to achieving VinUniversity’s graduate attributes encapsulated in EXCEL—Empathy, eXceptional ability, Creativity, Entrepreneurial spirit, and Leadership mindset. The program constitutes 35 out of the 120 credits of undergraduate education, underscoring its vital role in shaping holistic, forward-thinking graduates.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Oversee and strategically lead VinCore, ensuring that the curriculum aligns with and advances the university’s EXCEL graduate attributes.
- Conceptualize and design interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary educational pathways to foster holistic student development.
- Collaborate with faculty from various disciplines to integrate and deliver innovative courses such as Big Ideas, Critical and Creative Thinking, Ethics, Cross-Cultural Navigation, Community Service Learning, Languages, Healthy Lifestyle, and nationally mandated components (Ideology, Law, and National Defense Education).
- Continuously monitor trends and developments in higher education to maintain curriculum relevance and effectiveness in meeting contemporary employer expectations and societal needs.
- Regularly evaluate and refine the VinCore curriculum in collaboration with the VinCore Committee, including developing new courses and revising existing offerings.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the VinCore program and the broader university community.
- Engage proactively with stakeholders including students, faculty, employers, alumni, and external educational partners to gather insights and feedback for curriculum enhancement.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

- A doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Education, Humanities, Social Sciences, or a related interdisciplinary field.
- Proven experience in curriculum development, academic program management, or educational innovation at the university level.
- Strong commitment to interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary education.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- A strategic and visionary mindset, capable of anticipating educational trends and translating innovative ideas into actionable curriculum strategies.
- Familiarity with the Vietnamese education system and global trends in higher education is preferred but not required.
- A creative thinker who champions innovation and academic excellence.
- Demonstrated empathy and a strong commitment to student success and holistic development.
- An entrepreneurial spirit with a proactive and agile approach to program management.
- Proven ability to lead teams and positively influence organizational change.

- Work Permit Eligibility: International applicants must have at least three years of relevant work experience to qualify for a work permit in Vietnam
COMPENSATIONS
The salary benefits are internationally competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
LIVING AND WORKING IN HANOI, VIETNAM

- Work permit: VinUniversity will assist in and provide advice for obtaining the necessary paperwork needed for employment in Vietnam (visa, work permit, insurance, etc.). However, it is your responsibility to ensure that you can satisfy all the paper requirements in a timely manner.
- Living costs: Vietnam has a comparatively low cost of living and expatriates can live a very comfortable life here with a moderate expenditure
