THE COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES
The College of Arts and Sciences is the first home for all students enrolled at VinUniversity as they embark on a nuanced journey of self-discovery in a state-of-the-art tertiary education designed in collaboration with leading universities in the world, top minds in Vietnam and passionate stakeholders. In this sense, General Education at VinUniversity is essentially a “gateway” between past and future, theory and practice, and local and global. This is where students, faculty and staff collectively take the first step towards realizing VinUniversity’s mission of contributing to the betterment of Vietnam and the world.
The College of Arts and Sciences at VinUniversity seeks an innovative and dynamic Program Director to lead VinCore, the university’s interdisciplinary core curriculum program required for all undergraduate students. VinCore is fundamental to achieving VinUniversity’s graduate attributes encapsulated in EXCEL—Empathy, eXceptional ability, Creativity, Entrepreneurial spirit, and Leadership mindset. The program constitutes 35 out of the 120 credits of undergraduate education, underscoring its vital role in shaping holistic, forward-thinking graduates.
Position 1: Adjunct Faculty – Digital Design Thinking (COMM3071)
Responsibilities:
- Teach COMM3071 – Digital Design Thinking, focusing on strategic digital design, problem-solving mindset, UX principles, and communication-centered design approaches
- Develop course materials, assignments, and projects aligned with program goals
- Mentor students in project-based and collaborative learning environments
- Integrate practical tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, and other prototyping/interface design software into teaching
- Provide feedback to enhance students’ technical, creative, and strategic thinking skills
- Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve course content and student learning experiences
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in Communication, Web/Interaction Design, UX/UI Design, Digital Media, HCI, or related field
- Proficiency with prototyping and interface design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, etc.)
- Strong understanding of the design thinking process (Empathize–Define–Ideate–Prototype–Test)
- Knowledge of UX principles, usability, accessibility (WCAG), and responsive design
- Ability to articulate and teach how design functions as a strategic communication tool—connecting design decisions to meaning, perception, and audience engagement.
- Comfortable teaching/mentoring in project-based or collaborative environments
- Experience applying visual communication and layout principles in digital contexts
- Experience aligning design decisions with communication goals and user needs
- Familiarity with digital content strategy
- Ability to teach digital design to students from non-technical backgrounds
- Ability to critique design choices through both communication and UX lenses.
Position 2: Adjunct Faculty – Advanced Media Production (COMM4030)
Responsibilities:
- Teach COMM4030 – Advanced Media Production, focusing on advanced techniques in video editing, sound design, motion graphics, and visual effects
- Develop course materials, assignments, and production projects aligned with program goals
- Mentor students in collaborative, hands-on learning environments
- Integrate industry-standard tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Audition
- Guide students in advanced editing and post-production workflows
- Provide feedback on creative and technical work, emphasizing clarity, engagement, and visual storytelling
- Support students in refining creative judgment, technical fluency, and adaptability across tools, genres, and production environments.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Media Production, Film/Television, Digital Media, or a related discipline.
- Advanced proficiency in professional editing and post-production tools, including Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Audition (or comparable industry software).
- Demonstrated experience producing video content for multiple platforms and formats, including social, mobile-first, and long-form media.
- Strong working knowledge of sound design, motion graphics, and basic visual effects techniques.
- Ability to teach and mentor students through complex editing, color, sound, and motion graphics workflows.
- Familiarity with industry-standard production and feedback pipelines (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Frame.io, shared storage, versioning workflows).
- Clear understanding of how creative, technical, and aesthetic decisions shape audience experience, message clarity, and visual storytelling.
