ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

VinUniversity is looking for an entrepreneurial-minded Strategic Planning Officer who is passionate about strategic planning/project management in a fast-paced international higher education environment

The Strategic Planning Officer will report directly to President of University Council and will work as a coordinator to consolidate and manage the overall strategic plan, action plan, report from Colleges/Departments of the University and as a project manager for new projects/initiatives. You will contribute to design the initiatives strategy with scientific proven record which helps the University Council to make final decision as well as contribute to the systemization, standardization, simplification, automation of the management plan of university - wide. You will work closely with all Senior Leaders of Colleges/Departments to deliver the excellence in our educational mission, bring the remarkable value to VinUniversity.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  •  Strategic Planning – Coordinate the collection of information, data, and benchmarks to inform the university’s strategic direction; consolidate strategic goals and action plans from all units; ensure alignment with the university’s mission and vision.
  • Reporting – Develop and maintain comprehensive reports on strategic plan implementation; track outcomes and deliverables; present data-driven insights to leadership.
  • Goal Setting & KPIs – Support the development of goals and measurable KPIs for critical positions; monitor progress and recommend adjustments to meet strategic objectives.
  • Systems & Dashboards – Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of dashboards and management systems to enable effective tracking, monitoring, and reporting of strategic initiatives.
  • Plan Compliance – Ensure all Colleges and Departments meet planning and reporting requirements; monitor adherence to timelines, processes, and standards.
  • Research & Analysis – Monitor trends in the higher education sector; analyze developments; propose new initiatives for continuous improvement.
  • Other Duties – Perform additional strategic planning and project management tasks as assigned by the Director of TMO

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Education Administration, IT or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, project management, or institutional effectiveness (higher education experience is an advantage).
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills (IELTS 7.5 and above); ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of the higher education sector, trends, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to engage effectively with senior leaders.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools, dashboards, and performance tracking systems.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to meeting deadlines.
