ABOUT THE POSITION
The Program Director will report to the Dean, and who will work closely with and support the Dean with the ongoing development and realization of the vision and goals of the College, work with other leaders and colleagues across the University to pursue those goals, and effectively communicate the College’s vision and goals to and secure necessary supports from constituencies within and external to VinUniversity.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Program development and leadership:
- Work closely with the leaders, other Program Director on all aspects of the development and implementation of the Program.
- Take lead and responsibility for the development and implementation of the curriculum for the program at VinUni.
- Provide leadership on course development, curriculum development and implementation, course quality assurance and improvement, and professional accreditation for Residency education programs at VinUni.
- Provide leadership at course levels for implementation of teaching and learning priorities such as competency based education, student centered learning, teacher appraisal and articulation to post graduate’s program.
- Promote the development of active teaching and learning practices in the delivery of the course ensuring integration of graduate attributes and competency standards across the course.
- Manage and oversee budgets for strategic funds allocated to course development.
Human Resource development, mentoring, and teaching:
- Maintain leadership and mentorship capability in advising and other partnering team members within your area of expertise to build up the faculty team for Program.
- Teach in your area of expertise to junior team members, students in professional and graduate programs.
- Work with the leaderboard to develop a profile of suitable candidates to teach in the course and participate in selection committees for position appointments.
- Provide coaching and mentoring for the professional development of faculty members of graduate program at VinUni to prepare for future generation.
- Prepare a program for performance appraisal of staff and department chairs as assigned by the leaderboard of VinUni.
Networking, international partnership and other services:
- The program director is expected to take the lead in building up international partnerships for VinUni. This includes cooperation and advocacy work with local stakeholders and partners to satisfy all the requirements to implement graduate programs in Vietnam context.
- Serve on different sciences/educational and professional committees of VinUniversity as assigned.
- During the teaching, you will also perform the practices at VinUniversity affiliated teaching following the best practice of university teaching model.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
- Doctoral degree required, preferred from a prestige institution.
- Strong track record in graduate education program development and implementation with international standard and accreditation, especially the US standards.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in academic setting.
- Verbal communication skill in Vietnamese is a plus.
- Experience in coaching/mentoring educators.
- Experience of working in multidisciplinary and collaborative educational team.
- At least 5 years’ successful experience in progressively responsible teaching, research, educational, and administrative leadership positions in a university setting.
- Experience with accreditation such as AACSB and ranking such as QS.
- Demonstrated successful experience in strategic planning, fiscal management, resource allocation, and personnel supervision.
- An appreciative understanding of the challenges that inevitably arise from the operation of a new University, with the patience, resilience, and ability to work collaboratively with diverse constituents of an institution to effectively resolve challenges and build opportunities to promote the mission and vision of the College/University.
