ABOUT THE POSITION
The Head of Career, Alumni, Industry & Development (CAID) will report to Vice Provost of Academic Affairs, and will focus on promoting and developing strategic relationships between VinUniversity and local and international industry, organization partners and alumni to provide a wide variety of opportunities for VinUni students including career counseling, mentorships, internships, career readiness trainings, and employment opportunity search as well as industry attachment for VinUni faculty. The primary goals of CAID include securing graduate employment outcomes and employer reputation and supporting alumni career advancement and development/fundraising initiatives that align with VinUni’s mission.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Industry Relations
- Establish, develop, and maintain mutually beneficial strong relationships with leading domestic and international employers to create internships, professional development, and career opportunities for VinUni students and alumni.
- Develop strong relationships with industry leaders to engage them in diverse roles such as industry speakers, guest lecturers, mentors, board members, industry project champions, etc.
- Strategize and lead corporate engagement programs with a shared revenue target covering executive and professional education, sponsorships and scholarships
Career Services:
- Lead the strategic direction and delivery of comprehensive career services for students and alumni.
- Develop annual strategic plan and action plan for the Department, in line with the wider University strategic plan and action plan
- Work closely with VinUni Colleges to understand College-specific needs and identify potential collaborations with industry partners based on the needs and requests.
- Implement career readiness program and workshops for VinUni students and alumni (resume, cover letters, internship and job application, networking, tests, assessment centers…), build content, materials, guidance.
- Provide high-quality career counseling services to students and alumni.
- Manage CRM system and Career Service Management platform and work closely with internal stakeholders (colleges representatives) and external stakeholders to utilize system/platform effectively.
- Track employment outcomes and oversee employer feedback surveys.
- Secure enough employer reputation votes for QS ranking.
Alumni Relations:
- Establish and grow an active, global alumni network that aligns with VinUni mission and vision.
- Plan and implement signature alumni engagement programs.
- Develop alumni volunteer and recognition programs.
- Maintain and enhance alumni data management systems.
Development:
- Support the development and implementation of fundraising activities targeting corporate donors, alumni, and philanthropic organizations.
- Lead donor cultivation, proposal development, and stewardship activities.
- Ensure transparent reporting on the impact of funds raised.
General Leadership Role:
- Manage and develop a high-performing team across careers, industry engagement, alumni relations and development functions.
- Oversee departmental budget, KPIs, and performance reporting.
- Represent VinUniversity at high-profile events, conferences, and networking forums.
- Other duties as assigned by the line manager and senior management
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree from a reputable university.
- Overseas education in an English-speaking country is desired but not required.
- At least 07 years working experience in a reputable corporate setting, an international organization or an academic institution with a proven record of professional success and working successfully with multiple stakeholders.
- Good understanding of approaches to industry engagement practices.
- A wide network of industry people.
- Good knowledge of trends across diverse industry sectors.
- Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills with C-suite executives.
- Experience in creating internships and career counseling is an advantage.
- Genuine passion for contributing to develop a world-class education in Vietnam.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Highly developed communication skills; well-developed interpersonal, negotiation, networking skills and coordination.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both in English and Vietnamese.
- Result-orientation, good time management skills, resilience, ability to multi-task effectively and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to provide exemplary account management and services with a wide variety of stakeholders including employers, College representatives, students, alumni, and staff.
- Knowledge of usage of similar CRM system / Career Management platform in the past is an advantage.
- Demonstrate a genuine passion for contributing to develop a world-class education in Vietnam and continuously improving student experience and graduate employability
