ABOUT THE COLLEGE

Through its excellence in teaching, research and innovation, the College of Business & Management (CBM) aims to nurture and develop competent business professionals, leaders and entrepreneurs with integrity who are critical thinkers and aspire to assist Vietnam in its strong growth projection.

With a vision to become a research focused college, the College of Business and Management will soon offer different graduate programs, a number of new undergraduate programs and provide the desirable research environment for our faculty members to conduct world-class research and pursue advances in business. With the advantage of being in the ecosystem of Vingroup with a number of leading companies such as Vinpearl, Vinhomes, VinHMS, VinFast, VinTech, and Vincom Retail, the College will collaborate closely with these companies and often in research to create breakthrough products, services and solutions. The University has a strong connectivity with industry and students actively engage in internship & capstone projects.

 

THE OPPORTUNITY

VinUniversity is seeking a proactive External Engagement Coordinator to support the College of Business and Management in building relationships with industry partners, employers, alumni, academic partners, and the wider business community.

Reporting to the College of Business & Management leader, the role helps create external engagement opportunities that support student employability, alumni engagement, executive education, and the College’s reputation.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

REPORT TO: CBM Leaders

This role is responsible for supporting the College’s external engagement activities, with key responsibilities including:

1. Partnership Management — 20%

  • Work closely with CAID to build and maintain relationships with industry partners, employers, professional organizations, academic partners, alumni, and external experts.
  • Maintain partner databases and support outreach activities related to academic reputation, industry reputation, broader College priorities, course activities (guest speakers, fieldtrips), necessary reports, and QS-related efforts.
  • Introduce suitable external partners for selected CBM course and program activities, including study tours, defense judging panels, academic–industry activities, and other priority engagement initiatives.
  • Identify and support potential MoU opportunities with academic and industry partners, in coordination with CBM leadership and relevant University stakeholders.

2. Internship, Industry Opportunities and Collaboration — 30%

  • Act as the main contact point for internship programs, industrial placements, and project-based learning opportunities.
  • Support opportunity sourcing, student–industry matching, internship preparation, and student advising in collaboration with industry partners, employers, alumni, faculty, and TAs, especially for study tours, the Executive Internship Program, and internship programs.
  • Track student progress together with course TAs and relevant faculty, and maintain regular communication with industry partners to ensure a positive student and industry experience.
  • Provide students with guidance on workplace readiness, professional communication, workplace etiquette, feedback handling, task ownership, and common workplace situations during internships and placements.
  • Collect feedback from students and industry partners to improve internship models and strengthen the relevance of CBM programs to industry needs.
  • Act as the main contact point for external visitors and industry partners participating in CBM-related campus tours, institutional visits, industry collaboration conferences, and other engagement activities.

3. Alumni Engagement and Graduate Employability — 20%

  • Support final-year students in identifying internship, employment, and career development opportunities in collaboration with employers, alumni, faculty, and relevant University stakeholders.
  • Track final-year student employability outcomes, including job search progress, employment status, career interests, and employer feedback, to support the College’s commitment to graduate outcomes and QS-related efforts.
  • Work closely with CAID to support alumni engagement and graduate employability initiatives that strengthen long-term relationships between the College and its alumni community.
  • Engage alumni in mentoring, guest speaking, career sharing, networking, recruitment, and student development activities.
  • Maintain alumni and employability data, including alumni career information, student placement progress, employer contacts, and engagement records.
  • Contribute to initiatives that support alumni career advancement, graduate employability, employer reputation, and the College’s broader external engagement priorities.

4. Executive Education Support — 20%

  • Collaborate with relevant University stakeholders, CBM leadership, and the Director of Executive Training Programs to support the planning and delivery of executive education programs.
  • Coordinate course operations, including timetables, venues, learning materials, Canvas course management, participant communication, and post-program follow-up.

5. Other Responsibilities — 10%: Support other tasks as assigned by the College.

 

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, with at least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in an academic or related setting, preferably in higher education, external engagement, career services, alumni relations, or partnership coordination.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, timelines, databases, events, and reports in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally and confidently with students, faculty, alumni, industry partners, academic partners, and University stakeholders.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and persistent, with a student-centered mindset and genuine care for student development, workplace readiness, employability, and student experience.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively, demonstrating professionalism, service orientation, adherence to policies, and resilience under pressure.
  • Proficiency in English is required, with a minimum IELTS Academic score of 6.0 or equivalent.
