Position Summary

The Business Development Manager of Executive Education is responsible for driving revenue growth through the identification, acquisition, and retention of corporate clients and strategic partners. This role involves developing and executing business development strategies to promote executive education programs, including customized learning solutions for senior executives, corporate teams, and industry leaders. The manager will engage with C-suite executives, HR leaders, and learning & development professionals to assess organizational training needs, propose tailored executive education programs, and secure high-value contracts. Additionally, the Business Development Manager will collaborate with academic directors, program managers, and marketing teams to align program offerings with market demands and ensure exceptional client experiences. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong relationship management, consultative selling, and negotiation skills to effectively position the institution as a premier provider of executive education solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Analysis and Strategy Development:
    • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, industry demands, and potential client segments.
    • Develop targeted business development plans to drive revenue growth and meet strategic goals.
  • Client Acquisition and Relationship Management:
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with corporate clients, government entities, and industry partners.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including C-suite executives, HR leaders, and learning & development managers.
    • Develop and present customized executive education proposals, showcasing the institution’s learning solutions.
  • Program Customization and Design:
    • Collaborate with academic directors and faculty to co-design tailored executive education programs.
    • Ensure alignment of program content with client needs, business objectives, and industry trends.
  • Sales and Revenue Generation:
    • Develop pricing strategies, negotiate contracts, and secure agreements for executive education programs.
    • Track and report on sales targets, client feedback, and program performance.
  • Marketing and Outreach:
    • Coordinate with marketing teams to develop targeted promotional campaigns for executive education offerings.
    • Represent the institution at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote programs.
    • Utilize CRM systems to track client engagement and manage sales pipelines.
  • Financial Management:
    • Develop budgets, revenue forecasts, and financial projections for executive education programs.
    • Monitor program profitability and recommend adjustments to optimize financial outcomes.
  • Reporting and Data Analysis:
    • Maintain accurate records of business development activities, sales performance, and client interactions.
    • Analyze data to assess the effectiveness of strategies and identify areas for improvement.
  • Internal Collaboration:
    • Work closely with program managers, faculty, and marketing teams to align sales strategies with program delivery.
    • Provide feedback to academic teams on emerging client needs and market trends.
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
    • Stay updated on industry trends, executive learning innovations, and competitor activities.
    • Recommend new program concepts, delivery formats, and partnership opportunities.
  • Client Support and Follow-Up:
    • Ensure seamless client onboarding and program implementation.
    • Conduct post-program evaluations to assess client satisfaction and identify further business opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Education, or a related field.
    • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of five years of experience in business development, sales, or client relations within executive education, corporate training, or higher education sectors.
    • Proven track record of closing large deals and designing custom learning solutions.
    • Demonstrated success in consultative selling, strategic planning, and managing executive-level relationships.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
    • Experience in developing and marketing executive education programs.
    • Knowledge of industry trends in leadership development and digital learning.
