The Ed-Tech Innovator is a forward-thinking education professional who blends pedagogy with technology to enhance teaching, learning, and student engagement. This role drives the ideation, prototyping, implementation, and evaluation of technology-enhanced learning initiatives. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
REPORTING LINE: Reports to the Director of the Center for Education Management
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Innovation & Strategy
- Lead the exploration and implementation of emerging technologies (AI, XR, adaptive platforms, learning analytics, etc.) in education.
- Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for educational technology innovation aligned with institutional goals.
- Evaluate global ed-tech trends and adapt them for local application and scalability.
Instructional Design & Digital Pedagogy
- Partner with faculty and instructional designers to integrate technology effectively into curriculum design and delivery.
- Design and prototype interactive, student-centered learning experiences using learning management systems (LMS), authoring tools, and media platforms.
- Lead the creation and curation of digital content, microlearning modules, and self-paced learning experiences.
Project Development & Management
- Manage ed-tech pilots and learning innovation projects from ideation to execution, including timeline, budget, and impact measurement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, media, student services, and academic departments to ensure successful deployment of tools and practices.
- Develop and maintain documentation for training, support, and institutional knowledge sharing.
Training, Support & Community Building
- Facilitate workshops, bootcamps, and consultations to support faculty and students in digital literacy and innovation.
- Foster a culture of experimentation, feedback, and reflection among educators through communities of practice.
- Provide just-in-time support and user experience feedback for digital learning tools.
Research & Assessment
- Conduct action research and gather data to measure impact of technological interventions on student learning and engagement.
- Publish and present findings to internal and external stakeholders; contribute to grant writing or conference participation.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Required:
- Master’s degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in instructional innovation, academic technology, or ed-tech startup/consulting.
- Demonstrated expertise with learning platforms (e.g., Moodle, Canvas), design tools (e.g., Articulate, Genially), and collaborative tools (e.g., Miro, Google Workspace).
- Proven ability to lead innovation projects and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong pedagogical grounding and commitment to learner-centered approaches.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with AI in education (LLMs, adaptive learning platforms, assessment tools).
- Experience with UX design thinking, agile development, or human-centered design.
- Knowledge of standards like UDL, WCAG, or digital accessibility best practices.
- Experience in higher education or international learning contexts.
