ABOUT THE POSITION
The Development Specialist will play a key role in advancing the mission of VinUniversity by driving strategic fundraising and partnership initiatives. This position is responsible for cultivating relationships with corporate partners, foundations, alumni, and philanthropists to secure financial and in-kind support for scholarships, academic programs, research, and university development priorities. The Specialist will also contribute to the design and execution of campaigns, proposals, events, and stewardship plans to enhance engagement and long-term commitment from donors and partners.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Fundraising and Partnership Development
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospective donors including individuals, corporations, and foundations.
- Develop customized proposals and presentations for scholarships, sponsorships initiatives.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to prepare donor engagement packages and partnership pitches.
- Maintain a database of prospects, interactions, and pledges.
2. Donor Engagement and Stewardship
- Design and implement stewardship plans to maintain strong donor relationships.
- Organize appreciation events, scholarship award ceremonies, and impact reporting activities.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications to publicize donor stories and sponsorships.
3. Strategic Initiatives and Campaigns
- Support the execution of capital campaigns and targeted fundraising initiatives aligned with VinUniversity’s strategic goals.
- Conduct benchmarking and market research to identify new funding models and partnership opportunities.
4. Internal Collaboration and Support
- Work closely with other CAID units to align development efforts with university-wide engagement strategies.
- Support university leadership and members in their development and fundraising activities.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, International Relations, Education, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in fundraising, business development, corporate partnerships, or advancement roles.
- Experience working in higher education, nonprofits, or CSR-driven organizations is an advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong interpersonal, networking, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Vietnamese.
- Proposal writing, donor communication, and project management skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strategic thinking with a results-driven mindset.
- Knowledge of CRM systems or fundraising databases is a plus.
