ABOUT THE POSITION
The Facility Officer (Design) will control design and supervise construction site for facility projects and renovation from the Client‘s perspective, coordinate with LEED Consultant for issuing green building certification for on-campus buildings.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Evaluate drawings provided by design stakeholders (Design Consultant, Design Controller), providing critiques and expert opinions (including on functionality and layout, building physics, materials and details, etc.).
- Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure feasibility and cost-efficiency; Propose design adjustments to optimize the building’s functionality, aesthetics, and operational efficiency.
- Verify the consistency between architectural designs and those of other disciplines, such as structure, M&E (HVAC systems, plumbing & sanitation, heavy current electricity, light current electricity), fire protection, landscaping, interiors, etc.
- On-site construction supervision.
- Coordinate with LEED Consultant for issuing green building certification:
- Other tasks as assigned by the Department Head:
- Develop minor renovation design plans.
- Compile dossiers, drawings, and designs for post-renovation operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Head.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
- University degree in Architecture.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in architectural implementation design (shop drawings) or design control.
- Preference for candidates with experience in coordinating with various design disciplines (e.g., M&E, fire protection, etc.).
- Practical experience in managing documentation and the LEED certification process (or equivalent green building certifications) is an advantage.
- Proficiency in reading, understanding, and analyzing detailed design drawings.
- Ability to work independently and and as part of a team.
- Good English proficiency (ability to read and understand technical documents is essential) for working with LEED materials.
- Proficient in design and office software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office.
