Position Summary:
VinUniversity is seeking a dynamic and proactive Alumni Engagement Officer to develop and implement programs that foster strong relationships between the university and its alumni. Reporting to the Head of Careers, Alumni, Industry and Development, this role plays a vital part in building a vibrant alumni community that supports lifelong engagement, professional development, and philanthropy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Alumni Relations Strategy & Execution
- Design, and lead the implementation, and manage the alumni engagement strategy aligned with VinUniversity’s mission and strategic priorities.
- Create meaningful engagement opportunities through events, communications, and networking platforms.
- Foster a culture of alumni pride, loyalty, and advocacy.
- Communication & Community Building
- Maintain regular, compelling communication with alumni via newsletters, social media, email campaigns, and the alumni portal.
- Develop content that highlights alumni achievements and university news to maintain strong emotional and intellectual ties.
- Event Management
- Plan and execute alumni events such as reunions, speaker series, networking nights, and mentoring programs.
- Support and collaborate on broader university events involving alumni participation (e.g., Career Week, Alumni Gathering and Recognition, Tradition Day, Graduation Week, Homecoming…).
- Alumni Data & CRM Management
- Maintain and update a comprehensive alumni database using the university’s CRM platform.
- Track engagement metrics and prepare regular reports to assess program impact.
- Collaboration & Cross-Functional Engagement
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Colleges, Development Unit, Student Experience, Marketing and Communications) to align alumni efforts across the university.
- Engage alumni in university initiatives including student mentoring, internship and job opportunities, and philanthropic support.
- Alumni Council Support
- Serve as a liaison to the VinUniversity Alumni Association and Alumni Council.
- Support the development and governance of alumni chapters and interest groups.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Higher Education, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in alumni relations, community engagement, or event management, preferably in an educational setting.
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Vietnamese.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Event planning and project management expertise.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, social media platforms, and digital marketing tools.
- Creativity, attention to detail, and a service-oriented mindset.
- An appreciative understanding of the challenges inherent in operating a new university, combined with creativity, resilience, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to effectively address challenges and create opportunities that advance the mission and vision of the college/university.
