THE OPPORTUNITY & RESPONSIBILITIES
Disciplines: Humanities and Social Sciences subjects (Global Political Economy; Politics and Social Change; Philosophy, Science and Society; and/or Vietnamese History & Culture).
Teaching Assistant (TA) position is for a junior academic to assist the lead faculty with courses and conduct other responsibilities for the College of Arts & Sciences. Teaching Assistant supports the lead faculty in the following areas:
- Support the lead faculty in preparing teaching materials and diverse class activities.
- Search multimedia materials and academic references related to class topics and to make a list of them.
- Teach small classes under the guidance and supervision of the lead faculty.
- Hold office hours to help students.
- Answer student questions in class, on Canvas, and via email.
- Assisting with the grading, assignments, and projects.
- Support student teams/projects and fieldwork in large classes.
- Support the communication between course faculty and VinUni’s administrative office.
- Support the lead faculty in curriculum development related tasks.
- Carry out other diverse tasks that support the college as per request by the line manager.
- The total working hours are equivalent to 44 hours per week.

KEY ATTRIBUTES & SELECTION CRITERIA
- Hold a master’s degree or be a PhD candidate.
- Highly knowledgeable in the Humanities & Social Sciences areas.
- Have excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Patient and resourceful, organized and careful with time management, and attentive to details.
- Well experienced with active learning experiences, including team-based learning, project-based learning, case-based learning, and experiential learning.
- Familiar with Canvas, VinUniversity’s learning management system or fast learner with regard to new technologies.
- Have passion in teaching and helping students to learn better and develop their potential.
