ABOUT VINUNIVERSITY LIBRARY
The library (http://library.vinuni.edu.vn) is one of the best academic libraries in Vietnam, especially in health and medical sciences. It holds the largest health sciences collection with access to 4,290 medical journals and 2,842 prints and electronic titles. It is also the first academic library in the country to deploy the cutting edged Ex-Libris integrated library system to facilitate easy access to library resources. The library is digital-resource bound with 65% of the library resources being electronic, focusing on the use of digital technologies in a contextual way including 24/7 remote access, e-reserve, library portal, RFID, self-serve check-out, Internet of things, and webchat services. With a holding of more than 4,500 printed items and access to 203,000,000 electronic resources, the library is the hub of the learning communities, providing a quality and balanced collection to support teaching, learning, and research.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Library and Learning Resources Director, the library collaborator is responsible for supporting the library’s digital initiatives and information services. The position helps delivering digital library services and digital scholarship support, information, and circulation services at enquiry circulation desks under the supervision of professional academic librarians during working hours.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Library’s digital scholarship services
- Support use of physical and virtual library at operation hours, including library’ studios, virtual reality lab, and other high-tech facilities.
- Create digital media and learning objects for library use such as video, audio, and training materials, etc.).
- Assist in administrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the library system and applications including library automation systems, digital repository, library website, self-check machine etc.
- Research, recommend and implement new studio/lab equipment and software.
- Assist with statistics and reports related to studio use and other technological services.
- Others
- Support circulation desk duties including books and equipment loan.
- Perform other library tasks as assigned.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Education
- High school graduated, pursuing diploma or bachelor’s degree. Library Science and Computer Science is an asset.
Experience
- Interesting in multimedia production.
- Ability to work in a digital environment using basic office equipment, automated systems, web browsers, social media platforms, and common portable devices
- Excellent communication skills, problem-solving, technical skills.
- Familiarity with library operation is an asset.
English proficiency
- English is the language of teaching and communication at VinUniversity. For this role, the candidate needs to have good written and verbal communication skill in English.
Renumeration
- The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience, training, and experience.
ABOUT VINUNIVERSITY
VinUniversity is a newly developed, private, non-profit university in Hanoi, Vietnam. It was established by Vingroup with a mission to be the first world-class, internationally accredited, and recognized university in Vietnam. VinUniversity has two overarching goals: to excel in teaching and to produce graduates and research that contribute to developing the key economic sectors of Vietnam.

Cornell’s SC Johnson College of Business is providing extensive academic advisement in a variety of areas, drawing from a wealth of faculty expertise at multiple colleges and units at Cornell University. Penn’s medical and nursing schools are functioning in a similar fashion to guide the formation of health science education at VinUniversity and to interface with Vinmec, Vingroup’s outstanding health system, which currently encompasses 7 hospitals throughout Vietnam. VinUniversity aims to meet the 5-star rating standards of QS Stars and will include the following colleges within the University: a College of Business (including Hospitality and Real Estate); a College of Engineering and Computer Science; and a College of Health Sciences. The University will be an English Medium Instruction (EMI) institution and plans to open for the inaugural class of students in Fall 2020.
